5. Drive

It would take an incredible song to make us notice anything other than Ryan Gosling on the big screen, so we knew instantly that Cliff Martinez’s soundtrack to Drive would make our top list for doing just that.

4. PROM

Prom can be awesome. Prom can also totally suck. Whether you’re with your dream date or planning to escape out of the bathroom window during a slow song, with the PROM soundtrack you can guarantee that you’ll at least have a night of great music.

3. The Muppets

When we talked to Jason Segel (le sigh) about The Muppets film we were so excited to discuss the amazing soundtrack penned by Flight of the Conchords star Bret McKenzie. Mahna Mahna.

2. Footloose

While most were skeptical that a remake of the beloved 1984 Footloose could live up to the original, the new film was a success, including it’s soundtrack. We talked to director Craig Brewer about his decision to use original songs from the film as well as updated versions. Kudos on Ella Mae Bowen covering Holding Out For A Hero. I hope she’s holding out for a huge record deal!

1. Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1

If you want a great soundtrack then you’d better enlist Music Supervisor Alexandra Patsavas. Breaking Dawn is Patsavas fourth time working on a Twilight soundtrack and she continues to score originals from huge artists as well as up and coming bands who are about to get HUGE – we’ll call it the Twilight affect.
