The former singer gained the moniker when she was a member of the all-girl pop group in the 90s, and admits it is still relevant. Victoria, now a fashion designer living in Los Angeles, said “I was called Posh because I liked nice restaurants and nice clothes, and that was my character. I didn’t smile, even in those days. There was this very strong image. Sometimes I catch myself in the mirror and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’ve turned into that person’.”
Although she is famed for never smiling, 38-year-old Victoria, who was in Spice Girls with Scary Spice (Mel B), Sporty Spice (Mel C), Ginger Spice (Geri Halliwell and Baby Spice (Emma Bunton), admits the group had a great time when they were together. Speaking on new documentary ‘The Spice Girls’ Story: Viva Forever!’, she added: “The things we used to get up to! We had a lot of fun. Even me.”
Mel B, 37, also said she lived up to her nickname, and found it gave her an advantage when she met new people. She said “Every woman gets a little bit scary every now and again and whether they’re peed off with their boyfriend or just having one of those bad hair days, we’re all a bit scary. I like my name. It kind of put a barrier up because when somebody would first meet me they’d think that I were going to be horrible and actually I picked and chose whether I was going to be nice or not nice that day.”
Geri walked out on Spice Girls in 1998, but the group continued as a four piece until 2000. They reunited in 2007 for a world tour of sell-out shows and again earlier this month to launch a musical based on their songs in London.
Soccer star David Beckham will reportedly be relocating with his wife Victoria and their children, Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, 10, seven-year-old Cruz, and 16-month-old daughter Harper, very shortly, putting an end to his six-year career with his Los Angeles Galaxy team to focus on “one last challenge”.
David said in a statement “I’ve had an incredibly special time playing for the L.A. Galaxy. However, I wanted to experience one last challenge before the end of my playing career. I don’t see this as the end of my relationship with the league, as my ambition is to be part of the ownership structure in the future.”
Speculation is rife that the 37-year-old star’s next move could be Australia, Paris, France, or even his native London, where former Spice Girls star Victoria could expand her fashion empire. A source recently said “London would suit Victoria because that is where her design studio is and, as a family, they love the energy there. But it would be a big move and lifestyle change for the children and David and Victoria aren’t sure they’re ready to make that sacrifice. Ultimately, David has to decide what he wants for his future and how that affects his family.”
