I think Selena has done it again. And I mean in more ways than one. Selena Gomez’s video for Come & Get It is a great video that features Selena fully embracing pop-stardom with beautiful landscape shots a la Rihanna’s Only Girl In The World and modern dancing and wardrobe styling of a Britney or Beyonce hit. The video also features less of a Indian theme like in her live performances but she still performs many of the sleek moves we’ve grown accustomed to.
MTV got to chat with one of Selena’s producers and one half of the production team the Suspex, Jason Evigan, on her upcoming album and said, “She didn’t really want to talk about the Justin stuff too much in her music,” Jason revealed. “She didn’t want to bash him. She never wanted to write songs about him… She wants to be empowering for these girls not to dwell on guys when guys break your heart. She’s a super uplifting, positive, amazing person who’s, spiritually, she’s really strong. And she’s a really cool girl. I think she’s gonna have a great year.”

Selena’s lead track Come and Get It will be released in April but tell us what you think of Rule The World and her video in the comments section!
After promising fans new music in the coming months, Selena Gomez has delivered the goods. The former Disney actress is continuing her transition into adulthood, first with her new film Spring Breakers, which is set to hit theatres at the end of the month, and now with her music.
Gomez has dropped her band title from her name, now opting to perform as Selena Gomez instead of Selena Gomez and The Scene. The first new track from Gomez in almost two years, Rule The World, hit the web today with a fury. The dance heavy song sounds like it would fit perfectly in a European disco, but Selena’s voice manages to not be overpowered by the bass-heavy single.
Rule The World is definitely a break-up anthem, with lyrics like “Our love was made to rule the world/You left me wanting what we were” sure to illicit rumblings that the song was written with Gomez’s ex, Justin Bieber, in mind.
Gomez has yet to confirm whether Rule The World will be on her upcoming album, saying that the disc’s lead single, Come and Get It, will be released in April.
James Franco has apologized to Justin Bieber for mocking him. The 34-year-old OZ the Great and Powerful star, who posted a video on his WhoSay site earlier this month in which he pretended to be Justin while lip-syncing to his hit Boyfriend and frolicking with actress Pretty Little Liar‘s Ashley Benson, has revealed he was asked to remove the video but insisted he didn’t mean to “diss” the 18-year-old Canadian popstar.
James, who starred alongside Ashley and Justin’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez in the movie Spring Breakers, told EOnline.com at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, “I was asked to take it down by some people. Bieber didn’t contact me, but I don’t think he was too happy. James added, “I wasn’t trying to diss him.” A source close to Justin claims he has never seen the video.
James, who is rumoured to be dating his former co-star Ashley, previously posted a short video of himself miming along to Selena’s hit Love You Like A Love Song while they were filming their movie and she reacted positively to the spoof. Selena said at the time, “I loved it. It was so good.” Selena also recently covered Justin Timberlake’s song Cry Me A River. Watch it here.
