A new Rod Stewart collection called The Rod Stewart Sessions 1971-1998 is on the way, which includes 4 discs with early versions and outtakes of some of his most classic tunes, as well as some unreleased tracks. Some of the highlights include a very early rough take of “Maggie May” and a cover of Bob Dylan’s “This Wheel’s On Fire”. But the kicker is a 1992 version of Stewart’s 1969 song “In A Broken Dream” that he resurrected for his MTV unplugged special - and guest performers include David Gilmore from Pink Floyd, Nick Cave and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones… you can actually preview the track at spinner.com.
