Nicki Minaj gets steamy with Lil Wayne

Nicki Minaj’s new video features Lil Wayne doing their business in a very exclusive looking mansion on an island. Scantily-clad in various bathing suits and bustiers, Nicki sings about a relationship with a man. Lyrics like “They holler at me but it’s you/ You, this ain’t high school/ Me, and my crew/ We can slide through/ Give it to you whenever you want/ Whip it whenever you want/ Baby, it’s yours” tell me that Nicki is serious about this kind of lust between her and a guy and it’s not all “high school” with her. Personally I’ve never seen her get to hot and heavy with a dude in a video before and it’s interesting that it is with Lil Wayne, her mentor.

Nicki Minaj is elegantly understated on Elle cover

Nicki Minaj looks absolutely gorgeous on the cover of Elle magazine for April. Pared down and less glammed up, it feels like you can actually see what she looks like (and we like what we see!). Nicki told the magazine that she wasn’t quite ready to see her self though saying, “When I saw myself with barely any makeup at, it was such a… like, I’m so, so attached to my pink lipstick, it’s hard. I feel that it’s become a part of me. To go in front of the camera, without pink lips or big ol’ crazy lashes- you know, nothing – I felt naked. It was scary! So this photo shoot was a real accomplishment in my eyes.”

Keith Urban weighs in on Nicki and Mariah

Keith Urban wasn’t surprised by Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey’s feud on American Idol. The Australian singer, who is the third new member on the show’s judging panel this season, said there was always going to be tension between the superstars because they are both so passionate about music and believes their falling out was inevitable. He told People.com, “First of all, it’s four passionate people who really care about the artists. Secondly, it’s four people who just got thrown onto a dance floor without any sort of choreography and were told ‘dance together.’ So some toes get stepped on – and we’re figuring it out.” The 45-year-old singer – who is married to actress Nicole Kidman, with whom he shares daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margret – will sit between the two female judges on the panel this season.

Fellow judge Randy Jackson, who is the only remaining original star on the panel, also claimed there has always been issues of rivalry on previous panels, which included Simon Cowell, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, Ellen DeGeneres and Paula Abdul. He said, “Listen, since this show started there have been very different, distinct personalities. It’s always been a very happy, funny, dysfunctional family.”

Mariah recently admitted she hopes her feud with Nicki will be good for the show’s ratings. The 42-year-old songstress – who went head-to-head with the Starships rapper on the judging panel of the show last October, with Nicki at one point threatening to shoot the ‘Hero’ singer and filming having to be called off – has revealed she felt extremely unsafe after their argument and confirmed she hired extra security after it. Mariah shared, “It felt like an unsafe work environment. Anytime anybody’s reeling threats at somebody, you know, it’s not appropriate.”

Nicki Minaj in battle with Steven Tyler on Twitter

Nicki Minaj has branded Steven Tyler “racist”. The American Idol judge has hit out at the Aerosmith rocker, who she replaced on the panel of the talent show, after he questioned her suitability as a panelist and claimed she would’ve passed on legendary musician Bob Dylan if he auditioned for the program, prompting furious Nicki to blast his comment.

She tweeted: “Steven Tyler said I would have sent Bob Dylan to a cornfield??? Steven, you haven’t seen me judge one single solitary contestant yet. I understand you really wanted to keep your job but take that up with the producers. I haven’t done anything to you. That’s a racist comment. You assume that I wouldn’t have liked Bob Dylan??? why? black? rapper? what? go f**k yourself and worry about yourself babe. LOL lets make him a shirt that says ‘No Coloreds Allowed’ (sic)”

Nicki, who was appointed to the panel with Mariah Carey and Keith Urban following the departure of Steven and Jennifer Lopez, thinks Tyler should have been more understanding because of the backlash he received when he joined the show. She wrote “When Steven 1st went on Idol he was ridiculed by his peers & fans alike. Called a sell out. So what does he do? Ridicule the next judge. (sic)”

Steven had claimed that he, Jennifer and remaining judge Randy Jackson, the only original panelist, had got the “best out of” auditionees, but he was unsure the new panel will be able to do the same. He said “These kids, they just got out of a car from the Midwest somewhere and they’re in New York City, they’re scared to death; you’re not going to get the best [out of them]. … If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield! Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips. Just saying.”
