Justin Timberlake and late night host Jimmy Fallon are good friends, as we can see from the musician’s numerous appearances on Fallon’s show, but the two are a comedic duo both on and off screen.
At Timberlake’s wedding to actress Jessica Biel, the singer decided to make a speech at the reception, but was interrupted by Fallon mid-speech, which just spiralled into more comedic gold apparently.
In Time Magazine’s Time 100 issue, Timberlake wrote this about the incident:
Picture this: I’m in the heart of an impromptu speech at my wedding reception in front of 150 guests, pouring it out to my lovely new bride. You could hear a pin drop. I paused for just a moment in between thoughts. And then there was Jimmy, shouting a joke from his seat, sparking an improv between the two of us that went on for a good five or 10 minutes and had all our guests roaring with laughter … It turned into a moment that everyone there will remember forever. Anyone else would have bombed on that stage. And then I would have kicked their ass.
We would like to invite both Timberlake and Fallon to our future weddings, please.
Most people have their own holiday traditions and Jessica Biel is no different. Well, maybe a little different. Biel shared recently that she decorates her Christmas tree with decapitated Barbie heads. The actress used to cut the heads off her Barbie Dolls and when she was younger and her parents would let her put them on their festive tree, a tradition she still keeps up.
She said “My Barbie Dolls didn’t really stick around very long. I ended up mutilating them by pulling their heads off, cutting off all their hair, dyeing them with markers and sticking them on the Christmas tree lights. They’d light up like these demonic heads. My parents were very open! Back then I don’t think people reported that kind of stuff. Now I would definitely be in trouble. I still have the heads. They still go on [my Christmas tree] every year at home.”
The 30-year-old, who married Justin Timberlake last month, admits she was quite a tomboy while growing up and wanted to be Indiana Jones. She told talk show host Conan O’Brien “I played any kind of sport – soccer, football. Whatever it was, I was playing with boys, hanging out. Indiana Jones was my idol. I wanted to be him. I wanted to be an archaeologist because of him. My dad had to explain to me that being an archaeologist means you’re sitting in a pile of dirt digging. It’s not swinging on ropes with a cool whip and a sidekick!”
Well, I guess my family putting Mr. Hanky on the Christmas tree doesn’t seem so bad anymore.
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, who got engaged on their annual Christmas holiday last December after more than five years together, are set to exchange vows this weekend in a small Italian town that holds special memories for them both. A source told The New York Post’s Page Six that the location “means a lot to both of them”, adding “The wedding is happening outside of Naples in a tiny town this week. It is their favourite place, a location that is very special to them. There will be a few hundred guests, and the maid of honour will be Jessica’s longtime best friend, Lindsay Ratowsky.”
The wealthy couple splashed out on a private plane to fly their guests, including ‘Saturday Night Live’ comedian Andy Samberg and music producer Timbaland, to Italy for their special day. In an attempt to keep the nuptials out of the press, the couple have kept the event as secret as possible, not even giving the wedding location to their guests until the day before they left.
Celebrations are already underway for the couple’s special day. Guests were spotted enjoying a low-key drinks reception near Naples on Tuesday, followed by an impressive fireworks display last night.
The couple were first spotted visiting possible wedding locations in the Italian countryside last April, including Francis Ford Coppola’s picturesque Palazzo Margherita in Bernalda, a small hilltop town 125 miles from Naples. Biel reportedly arrived in Italy on Tuesday after picking up her wedding dress from a designer showroom in Paris.
Timberlake’s groom duties have included rehearsing a surprise routine to his former band’s track It’s Gonna Be Me with his best man and ushers as he prepares for his nuptials to the Biel. A source told The Sun newspaper, “Justin has been working on this for months. Jessica used to love the track growing up and he wants it as a special treat. It will be very much tongue-in-cheek. There will be loads of exaggerated boy band moves and poses. She’s going to love it.”
