After tweeting lyrics from her self-titled album Demi and encouraging fans to ‘unlock’ the new songs by getting the titles trending on Twitter, Demi Lovato has released all thirteen songs from her upcoming disc on her Vevo page. Demi isn’t set to be released until May 14, but the former Disney-star turned X Factor host knows how to treat her Lovatics.
The new disc is a blend of emotional ballads like Shouldn’t Come Back and Warrior (think Christina Aguilera’s Beautiful) and fun pop songs, including Demi’s duet with Cher Lloyd on the cheeky Really Don’t Care. Showing off her powerhouse vocals and hard rock influence, Lovato proves she knows how to write songs made to dominate pop radio with songs like Fire Starter and her first single, Heart Attack.

Demi Lovato has hit the ground running with her upcoming release Demi. The former Disney star is continuing to prove that she’s the real deal with her latest emotional single Heart Attack, complete with a visually powerful music video.
Demi has taken fans behind the scenes on the making of her video for Heart Attack, explaining the concept of the video. A focal point of the video, the black paint on her hands represents “…the things that I can’t let go of,” says Demi. “It’s the left over pain and suffering from past relationships.”
Going for a sophisticated rocker chic look in the video, Demi explains her lack of movement, citing her first time in heels after breaking her ankle as cause for caution during the shooting. Unfortunately, Demi skips answering the BIG question – how did she not get paint in her eyes in the final scene?

Demi Lovato’s lead single off her upcoming album has leaked ahead of its March 4 release date. Acting as the first taste of Lovato’s fourth album, which has yet to be given a release date, Heart Attack shows a promising start to the new disc.
Lovato worked with media mogul Ryan Seacrest to surprise fans and release the track early, with Seacrest taking a break from his Oscar red carpet duties last night to tweet “Surprise! We’re premiering @ddlovato‘s new song “#HeartAttack” TONIGHT!! Go listen now”.
While Demi’s last album Unbroken centred around the subject matter of recovery, with Lovato opening up about her struggles with eating and anxiety disorders, Demi is bringing more of a pure pop undertone to the new disc. Singing about playing games in love, Heart Attack has a bravado that was missing from Unbroken, with lyrics like “When I don’t care/I can play him like a Ken doll/Won’t wash my hair/Then make him bounce like a basketball.”
