Britney Spears announced last week she was leaving the show after just one season as a judge and insiders claim it is because program chiefs refused her salary demands of $18 million. A source told RadarOnline.com “When producers asked if she wanted to return for the third season of ‘The X Factor’, Britney’s reps said she would only come back if she was offered $18 million. But after much deliberation, they just felt that Britney wasn’t worth that much because she wasn’t bringing enough to the table.”
The insider continued “Her performance as a judge was scrutinized, and she didn’t really add anything to the show. They felt she didn’t warrant a $3 million pay hike. When she originally signed up for $15 million last season, it was stressed that was as far as the network could go financially for her.”
Announcing her departure from the show on Friday, Britney said she wanted to go back to her music career, releasing the statement “I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season. I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it’s time for me to get back in the studio. Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.”

Britney Spears and her fiance Jason Trawick have split up. The 31-year-old popstar and her fiance, who got engaged in December 2011, reportedly mutually decided to end their relationship, with sources close to the pair insisting it was a “friendly break-up” and they simply “grew apart”, according to gossip website TMZ.
While Britney’s legal and personal affairs have been in the hands of her father Jamie Spears since her breakdown in 2008, Jason took on the role of co-conservator, but reportedly asked for news of their break-up to be kept private until his role as conservator ends. This could happen imminently as Jamie attended court on Friday to discuss Britney’s legal situation.
The break-up comes after a hectic week for Britney, who announced she has quit her role on X Factor in order to focus on her music career. Spears released a statement about her departure, saying “I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season. I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it’s time for me to get back in the studio. Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.”

Britney Spears has quit The X Factor USA. The Hold It Against Me singer, who acted as a judge on the second series of the FOX reality TV show alongside Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid, has decided not to return to the next season of the singing contest because she wants to concentrate on her own music career.
A source told gossip website TMZ, “Britney loves Simon, she likes Demi Lovato but her thing is music.” Britney – who was on a one-year $15 million contract and whose act Carly Rose made it to December’s grand final – is currently in the studio working on her eighth studio album and after she completes the LP, the mother-of-two is considering going on tour again. It was recently claimed the 31-year-old blonde was going to be given the axe from The X Factor after disappointing producers with her “low energy” and providing “boring” feedback to contestants.
An insider said, “Britney will get the boot. Producers wanted her for the long haul, but it isn’t working. They paid all that for her to say ‘amazing’ and offer half-claps. Simon wanted crazy Britney, but he got boring Britney.” L.A. Reid confirmed last year he won’t be returning for a third season.

Britney Spears wants to secure more TV work. The 31-year-old singer, whose contract with The X Factor reportedly won’t be renewed, is said to have instructed her management team to find her a recurring role on a sitcom. A source close to the mother-of-two told gossip website RadarOnline.com “Britney’s manager, Larry Rudolph, is reading television scripts that the singer could accept. Britney’s dad, Jamie feels that having his daughter on a sitcom would be a good fit for her. Britney needs to be kept busy, and a structured environment such as a television sitcom would be a natural fit for her. There is also a possibility that Britney could get her own television sitcom, but that appears to be more of a long shot. She actually has very natural comedic talents and is very funny, in an airhead sort of way.”
Sources previously revealed that the blonde beauty would not be returning to The X Factor after recently completing her one-year contract as a judge alongside Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid. One insider said “Britney, who was signed on a one-year deal, is the first person who will be expected to have her salary chopped. She is on a $15 million contract, which is absurd given that there’s been no huge surge in the ratings. It just doesn’t make sense to spend all that money on Britney when Simon Cowell will undoubtedly be able to find another high-profile judge to replace her at a fraction of the cost.”

Britney Spears will be spending Christmas with her fiance, Jason Trawick. The X Factor judge plans to celebrate the holiday season with her fiance, her two sons, Sean Preston, seven, and Jayden James, six, her parents and sister Jamie Lynn in her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana.
A source told the New York Post newspaper “Britney and Jason are bringing her sons down to Louisiana to be with the family, including her sister and her mom Lynne.” The pop star, who had her kids with ex-husband Kevin Federline, is planning a low-key festive celebration and hopes to relax with her loved ones after her prominent judging role on Simon Cowell’s talent show.
Britney, 31, is yet to decide whether she wants to sign up for another season of the singing competition after fellow judge L.A. Reid’s shock departure, and will be using the time at home to make up her mind. The source added “She loved working with the contestants and the girls, but she doesn’t yet know if she’ll do another season.”
Britney got engaged to Jason, her former agent, last December and the couple have purchased a new $8.5 million house together. The pop singer recently praised her man for the support he gives her, gushing “It amazes me that no matter what situation I’m in. Jason has the ability to make me feel protected and loved.”
