You've heard this song at almost every sporting event imaginable and it's all thanks to the short-lived Atlanta hip hop duo of Tag Team. Tag Team peaked on the Billboard Top 100, reaching as far as #2 with "Whoomp! (There It Is)" in 1993, but was never able to repeat that success. Two years and two albums later, Tag Team broke up, but returned one last time in 2000 to release a best-of compilation. Fun fact: another group by the name of 95 South had released a song with the exact same chorus in 1993 entitled "Whoot, There It Is" but failed to compete with Tag Team's single, charting much lower on the Billboard charts.
