Polly Scattergood First Spin - Listen Now!

Artist: Polly Scattergood
Album: Polly Scattergood
Genre: Brit Pop
Released: May 19, 2009

Polly Scattergood is a British singer songwriter that has produced an album that can be described as dark, intense and original. After giving her self-titled debut album a listen a certain number of artists popped up in my head that she reminds me of. Those artists are Bjork, Bat For Lashes and Kate Nash. If those three created a super group and released an album it would definitely sound like this.

All the songs on this album include all or some pop, electronica and alternative elements that makes for a great listen especially if you are into any or all of those genres of music. The single ‘Please Don’t Touch’ is a great example of how she combines different genres and produces a catchy tune. It is a pop-y tune but it can also that little bit of alternative feel to it.

If you are a fan of Bjork, Kate Nash, Bat For Lashes, Robyn or anyone who sounds like that then you will definitely enjoy this album. Give it a listen and let us what you think!
