MuchMore First Spin: Regina Spektor

muchmore_main
Russian singer-songwriter and pianist, Regina Spektor is back with her 5th studio album, Far; set to release on June 23, 09. The album is a follow up to her 2006 gold album, Begin To Home, and is pretty much everything you’d expect from the songstress but probably with more emotion and feeling.

Spektor has a unique way of connecting with her audience. Her songs are distinctively raw and relatable and her voice is gentle yet poignant. Mix this with her quirky demeanor and piano skills and you have a very interesting artist. She has toured with bands like The Strokes, Kings of Leon, Mates of State and the Moldy Peaches’ Kimya Dawson.

Far is comprised of 13 eclectic soft pop tracks that make you feel like you’re in some sort of Sunlight commercial walking through a really bright field full of butterflies and clean laundry and then suddenly you feel you are morning the loss of a loved one. It’s definitely a ride.
