Holy hot cakes batman, my hero Matt Wells just gave me news that I think everyone should know about. Matt was interviewing Peter Bjorn and John last week (awesome band) and they talked about how the original Miami Vice composer Jan Hammer remixed a song for them. Matt said it best himself when he said everyone gets Timbaland to do remixes but why not get a real legend?
For the record, Miami Vice is the greatest show ever and it basically raised me. I sleep in a white Ferrari car bed and dress my cat up as a drug runner on weekends for chases. I cried when I couldn’t dress like Don Johnson for my first ever school function in grade 2 (seriously). Well that’s why I sit close to Matt Wells so information like this doesn’t get past me. Oh and MuchMore is airing the movie so don’t miss it. It wasn’t super well received on release, and some of the acting (cough*ColinFarrell*cough) could be better, but trust me when I say it’s an amazing movie. People said it wasn’t very similar to the show but it was written, produced and directed by the original creator of the show, Michael Mann, so that couldn’t be more wrong. Anyway if you love music (you do) and you love movies (again, you must) then watch this movie. Tarantino has nothing on Michael Mann when it comes to using music and film in unison, just wait until you see the club scene or the Ferrari chasing the Bentley. Vice forever.
