Madonna buys $40 million mansion in NYC:

So much for Malawi. Madonna is movin’ to Manhattan. The entertainer just sealed the deal on a $40 million, four-story townhouse in New York’s upper east side. Apparently, she got a deal by paying $5 million less than the asking price.  Her new pad boasts 13 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms and nine fireplaces, not to forget an elevator, wine cellar and 3000 square feet of garden. The downside? Well accoring to the New York post, she might feel shakes from the rumbling subway train below. New York’s Mayor Bloomberg was asked if he would send Madonna a thak you note for buying a house in New York, and he said “No. But we plan to send her a bill.”
