Let me begin this by saying I am not a fan of Perez Hilton. I respect that he seems to be a smart business guy or whatever but I personally think he represents everything wrong with media and pop culture. That being said, he has his moments. Recently as a guest judge at the 2009 Miss USA pageant, Perez asked Miss California if she thinks Gay Marriage should be legalized to which she basically answered “no offense to anyone out there but I was raised to believe marriage is between a man and a woman”. She got some boos and this potentially may have cost her the Miss USA crown that was taken by Miss North Carolina…. and rightfully so if that’s the case. So Perez Hilton; if you can keep on the righteous road such as this example and lay off the gossip mongering… you and I will be ok.

She answered ignorantly but honestly – where’s the Miss America precedent for losing for that? Besides, I think it would bother her a lot more if we all admitted that she lost because she isn’t as good looking as the winner.

“Righteous road”, my ass! She was expressing her opinion as respectfully as possible. Even if she was wrong, she didn’t deserve what he did to her. You disappoint me, Matt…and I speak as a gay man and a Maritimer.
